LEBANON, Ill. -- The (RV) Lewis University softball team split their doubleheader against (RV) McKendree Saturday (April 12). The Bearcats won the first game 4-3 in 12 innings while the Flyers won the second game 6-4.

GAME 1: (RV) McKendree 4, (RV) Lewis 3 (12 innings)

TEAM RECORDS
(RV) McKendree 28-14, 14-5 GLVC | (RV) Lewis 30-13, 16-3 GLVC

SUMMARY
Lewis jumped out to an early 2-0 lead in the first inning after Kristen Graham (Mapleton, IL/Illini Bluffs High School) connected on her fourth home run of the season with a two-run shot to left center. 
 
McKendree responded in the bottom half of the first with three runs to grab a 3-2 lead. 
 
The Flyers tied it 3-3 in the sixth inning after Frafjord connected on a solo shot to left field her sixth of the season. 
 
Both teams did not score in the seventh inning, so the game went to extras. Neither team scored in the eighth, ninth, 10^th,or 11^th innings to keep the score tied at 3-3.
 
McKendree walked off in the bottom of the 12^th with a solo home run, winning the first game 4-3.
 
Garden (16-6) took the loss after going 11.1 innings, allowing 12 hits, giving up four runs (two earned), walking one and striking out 15.
 
GAME 2: (RV) Lewis 6, (RV) McKendree 4

(RV) Lewis 31-13, 17-3 GLVC | (RV) McKendree 28-15, 14-6 GLVC 

SUMMARY
Lewis jumped out to an early 2-0 lead in the first inning after Graham connected on her second two-run home run of the day.
 
Allie Wondrasek (New Lenox, IL/Lincoln-Way West High School) extended the lead to 3-0 after reaching on fielder's choice in the second inning, scoring Erica Hoffman (Hebron, IN/Boone Grove High School). 
 
Lewis doubled its lead in the third inning with a pair of home runs. Graham connected on her second home run of the game and third of the day with a solo shot to left center, making it 4-0.
 
Mackenzie Sheehan (Kansasville, Wis./Union Grove) extended the lead to 6-0 after hitting a two-run home run to left center, her first of the season. 
 
Wondrasek (15-4) recorded the win in the circle after pitching all seven innings, giving up six hits, allowing four runs, walking four and striking out seven.

Lewis will be back in action Sunday, April 13 as the Flyers travel to St. Louis, Missouri to take on the Maryville Saints for a doubleheader starting at 1:30 p.m. CT.
