Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 ST. LOUIS, Mo. -- The (RV) Lewis University softball team lost both games of a doubleheader against Maryville Sunday (April 13). The Saints won the first contest 6-5 in walk-off fashion then won the second 5-1.

GAME 1: Maryville 6, (RV) Lewis 5

TEAM RECORDS
Maryville 31-23, 13-8 GLVC | (RV) Lewis 31-13, 17-4 GLVC

SUMMARY
Lewis struck first in the opening inning of the contest after Delaney Garden (Carpentersville, IL/Harry D. Jacobs High School) scored on a wild pitch, making it 1-0 early. 
 
Maryville responded with a run in the bottom half of the first inning, tying the score at 1-1.
 
The Flyers scored three runs in the third inning, giving Lewis a 4-1 advantage. Mackenzie Sheehan (Kansasville, Wis./Union Grove) singled to left field, scoring Kristen Graham (Mapleton, IL/Illini Bluffs High School). 
 
Anna Frafjord (Sussex, WI/Hamilton High School) scored on a wild pitch, giving Lewis a 3-1 lead. Sheehan came around and scored on an RBI single from Erica Hoffman (Hebron, IN/Boone Grove High School), making it 4-1 Flyers.
 
Maryville got one right back in the fourth inning, cutting it down to 4-2. The Saints narrowed the deficit down to one (4-3) after scoring another run in the sixth.
 
Lewis regained a run after Sofia Dziuba (Minooka, IL/Minooka Community High School) hit a solo home run, extending the Flyers lead to 5-3. Maryville rallied in the bottom of the 
 
Garden (16-7) suffered the loss in the circle after going 6.2 innings, allowing eight hits, six runs (five earned), walking three and striking out four. 
 
GAME 2: Maryville 5, (RV) Lewis 1

TEAM RECORDS
Maryville 22-23, 14-8 GLVC | (RV) Lewis 31-14, 17-5 GLVC
 
SUMMARY
Both teams were held off the scoreboard in the first and second innings, keeping the score at 0-0. Graham gave Lewis an early 1-0 lead after her RBI single drove home Isabelle Poortenga (Dyer,IN/Lake Central High School) in the third inning.
 
That would be the only time the Flyers scored in the second game. Maryville tied the contest in the fourth, making it 1-1. 
 
The Saints broke through with four runs in the sixth inning, giving them a 5-1 advantage. Lewis went down 1-2-3 in the seventh and Maryville won 5-1.
 
Wondrasek (15-5) took the loss in the circle after throwing six innings, giving up eight hits, allowing five runs, walking three and striking out four.
