INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - The Great Lakes Valley announced Wednesday (May 6) that three Lewis University softball players were named GLVC All-Conference for softball.
Morgan Spodarek (Lockport, Ill./Lockport Township) was named All-GLVC First Team,
Katie Jensen (Warrenville, Ill./Wheaton-Warrenville South) was All-GLVC Second Team and
Nicole Magdziasz (Tinley Park, Ill./Providence Catholic High School) was All-GLVC Third Team.

Spodarek, a transfer from McKendree, was a constant behind the plate for the Flyers, starting in all 50 games. She batted .340 on the season with 51 hits, 17 doubles, seven triples and five home runs. Spodarek was tied for third in the GLVC in doubles, while finished tied atop the leaderboard in triples. She scored 33 runs and drove in 34 RBI, while totaling a .647 slugging percentage. Behind the plate she had a .981 fielding percentage. Against Truman (3/21) she drove in four runs and scored three times, while she had three doubles in a game against Ohio Dominican (4/1).

Jensen increased her average by .100, averaging .317 on the year in 48 games played, belting 46 hits with 14 doubles, two triples and three homers. She scored 26 times and had 25 RBI, posting a .503 slugging percentage. She had a pair of doubles and three RBI at Illinois Springfield (5/2).

Magdziasz hit .384 on the season in 50 games, totaling 66 hits with six doubles on the season. The leadoff hitter scored 39 runs and added 16 RBI, while walking 15 times. She had a .431 on base percentage and stole six bases. In the outfield she had a .971 fielding percentage. She had three hits nine different times on the season and finished seventh in the conference in hits.

Ava Reed (Lemont, Ill./Lemont High School) earned the James R. Spalding Sportsmanship Award for Lewis.
