ROMEOVILLE, Ill. – The No. 13 Lewis University men's lacrosse team defeated Indianapolis 9-5 Saturday (April 12) in a Great Lakes Valley Conference match. The Flyers used six second quarter goals to pull away for the win.

SUMMARY
FIRST QUARTER: UINDY 1, No. 13 Lewis 0
Indianapolis took the lead just 1:11 into the game. However, that would be the only goal for either team in the first quarter.
SECOND QUARTER: No. 13 Lewis 6, UINDY 0
Defense maintained the advantage for the first half of the second quarter before the Flyers broke through on a goal by Ruskoski with 7:09 left in the half. That opened things up for the Flyer offense as they were able to find the back of the net five more times in the period.
Hayes scored at the six-minute mark. Less than a minute later Schroeder added a tally to give Lewis a 3-1 lead. Just 21 seconds later Good scored to make it 4-1. With 3:14 remaining in the half, Dalep scored to make it 5-1. Ruskoski concluded the scoring in the half with a man advantage goal with 2:21 to give Lewis a 6-1 lead at the half.
THIRD QUARTER: No. 13 Lewis 2, UINDY 1
Schroeder opened the scoring in the second half with a goal at the 11:28 mark. It took nearly nine minutes for the next goal but it was again Lewis finding the back of the net as Hayes made it 8-1.
After nearly three full quarters of being held scoreless, the Greyhounds scored with 1:21 left to make it 8-2 after three quarters.
FOURTH QUARTER: UINDY 3, No. 13 Lewis 1
The Greyhounds scored the first three goals of the fourth quarter to make it 8-5 with 6:45 remaining. The Flyer defense held strong from there and Good finished the game off with a goal at the 2:20 mark to make it 9-5.
