GAME 1 SUMMARY
Southwest Baptist jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the opening inning. Lewis put up a nine spot in the bottom half of the first inning.
Chris McDevitt (Chicago, Ill./St. Rita) led the inning off with a solo shot over the center field fence, tying it at 1-1.
George Bilecki (Chicago, Ill./Marist) connected on his 19
th home run of the season with a two-run shot to right center, making it 3-1.
Jackson Hunley (Sun Prairie, Wis./Sun Prairie) scored
Jason Krol (Chicago, Ill./St. Laurence) with an RBI single after Krol singled three batters earlier.
Cole Nelson (St. Charles, Ill/Lenoir Rhyne) extended the lead to 7-1 after connecting on a three-run home run to center, scoring Hunley and
Jackson Bruno (Chicago, Ill./Notre Dame Prep).
McDevitt hit his second home run of the inning with a two-run bomb to left center, bringing
Tyler Phommachanhom (Plainfield, Ill/Parkland CC) home from first, giving Lewis a 9-1 lead.
Southwest Baptist responded with a pair of runs in the top of the second, making it 9-3 in favor of the Flyers.
Lewis added four more runs in the bottom of the second inning, increating the Flyers' lead to 13-3. Nelson connected on his second home run of the game and 10
th of the season with another three-run shot making it 12-3.
Four batters later, the Flyers made it 13-3 after Phommachanhom scored on a wild pitch.
Both teams went scoreless in the third and fourth innings, keeping the score at 13-3. Southwest Baptist threatened in the fifth inning with two runners in scoring position, but Lewis escaped further damage by getting the third out.
The Flyers made it 14-3 in the bottom of the fifth after
Cain Headrick (Custer Park, Ill./Providence Catholic) scored Bilecki with an RBI single.
Southwest Baptist got one back in the sixth inning after drawing a bases-loaded walk, making it 14-4 Lewis. Kocen connected on his 13
th home run of the season with a two-run shot to right center, making it 16-4 Flyers.
The Bearcats looked to rally in the seventh inning after getting seven runs to cut the deficit to 16-11 but that score would hold up with Lewis coming out on top.
Luke Carlson (Granville, Ill./Putnam County) (3-0) recorded the win with his start on the mound after going five innings, allowing five hits, giving up three runs (one earned), walking one and striking out four.

GAME 2 SUMMARY
McDevitt started the scoring as he did in the first game with a solo home run making it 1-0 early. Bilecki extended the lead to 2-0 after hitting an RBI single, scoring Kocen, who doubled earlier in the inning.
Headrick connected on his 10
th home run of the season with a three-run shot to right center, scoring Bilecki and
Jason Krol (Chicago, Ill./St. Laurence), making it 5-0 in favor of the Flyers. Kocen made it a 7-0 game after hitting a two-run double down the left field line, scoring Phommachanhom and Nelson.
Will Bruno (Upton, MA/UNC Pembroke) extended the Lewis lead to 10-0 after connecting on a three-run home run straightaway center, scoring Krol and Headrick. Lewis made it 12-0 after
Jackson Hunley (Sun Prairie, Wis./Sun Prairie) and Nelson scored on wild pitches.
Headrick made it 13-0 Lewis after hitting a RBI double to left center, scoring Krol from first. Hunley extended the lead to 14-0 with a RBI single to left, scoring Headrick.
The Flyers got another run in the third after a Phommachanhom RBI single drove home Bruno, giving Lewis a 15-0 advantage.
Southwest Baptist got on the scoreboard in the top of the fifth inning after scoring one run, making it 15-1 Lewis.
McDevitt extended the Lewis lead to 17-1 after hitting an RBI single that scored
Daniel O'Brien (Joliet, Ill./Joliet Catholic). Phommachanhom came around and scored after a fielding error on the Bearcats' right fielder. Kocen connected on his 14
th home run of the season and second of the day with a two-run shot over the right center wall making it 19-1 Lewis.
Headrick made it 20-1 after hitting an RBI triple to right field scoring
Brian Twomey (Brookfield, Ill./Riverside Brookfield) from third.
Daniel O'Brien (Joliet, Ill./Joliet Catholic) scored the final run for the Flyers with an RBI groundout, scoring Headrick, giving Lewis a 21-1 lead.
Logan Schwarting (Joliet, Ill./Joliet West) came on and pitched a scoreless sixth inning in relief for the Flyers. The Bearcats scored one run in the top of the seventh but that would be the final run of the contest with Lewis winning 21-2.
Brendan Lawry (Bolingbrook, Ill./Eckerd College) (8-0) recorded the win on the mound after going five innings, allowing four hits, giving up one run, walking two and striking out five.

No. 13 Lewis and Southwest Baptist wrap up their four-game series Saturday, April 19, for a nine-inning contest starting at noon CT. The Flyers will honor their 17 seniors before the contest.
