ROMEOVILLE, Ill. - The Lewis University softball team took down Quincy 5-1 and 6-2 Saturday (April 19).
Delaney Garden (Carpentersville, IL/Harry D. Jacobs High School) and
Allie Wondrasek (New Lenox, IL/Lincoln-Way West High School) combined to allow just two earned runs on the day.

GAME 1: Lewis 5, Quincy 1
SUMMARY
Anna Frafjord (Sussex, WI/Hamilton High School) got the day started with a bang, crushing a three-run homer to center field in the bottom of the first inning.
Grace Kmak (Mokena, Ill./Lincoln-Way Central High School) made it 4-0 in the second inning on a RBI double to right center.
Quincy got on the board in the top of the third inning on an error. Lewis was able to get the run back in the bottom of the third on an error for a 5-1 lead. Garden was able to continue her dominance to finish off the game.
Garden (17-7) pitched all seven innings, along just one hit and the unearned run, while striking out six. At the plate Garden went 2-for-4 with a run scored. Frafjord added two hits and three RBI. Kaelyn Conger (2-10) suffered the loss.
GAME 2: Lewis 6, Quincy 2
SUMMARY
Kmak got the Flyers on the board in the bottomo of the second inning on a sacrifice fly to left field. The Hawks evened the score in the top of the third on a single.
Garden put the Flyers back in fromnt in the bottom of the third inning when she scored off a wild pitch to take a 2-1 lead. Lewis extended the lead to 4-1 in the bottom of the fourth as Kmak doubled to left center, scoring two runs. Garden also doubled to left center, scoring Kmak to make it 5-1.
Nicole Magdziasz (Tinley Park, IL/Providence Catholic High School) made it 6-1 with a single later in the fourth inning.
Quincy scored on a fielder's choice in the sixth inning to make it 6-2, but could not get any closer.
Wondrasek (16-5) earned the win, allowing four hits and two earned runs over seven innings, striking out seven. Kaidence Dumas (0-5) took the loss for the Hawks. Garden and Isabella Poortenda had two hits each for the Flyers, while Kmak drove in three runs.
