ROMEOVILLE, Ill. -- The Lewis University softball team split its doubleheader against Indianapolis Saturday (April 26). The Greyhounds won the first game 4-3 in nine innings and the Flyers won the second 6-5.
GAME 1: Indianapolis 4, Lewis 3 (9 innings)

SUMMARY
Lewis recorded the first hit of the ballgame during the fourth inning after
Nicole Magdziasz (Tinley Park, IL/Providence Catholic High School) picked up an infield single.
The Flyers had runners on third and second with one out in the fourth, but Indianapolis managed to get back-to-back strikeouts to escape the jam.
Lewis had another threat to score in the fifth after loading the bases but the Greyhounds got the third out and did not allow a run.
Indianapolis broke through in the seventh inning with two runs off a couple Flyers miscues, making it 2-0.
The Flyers responded in the bottom half of the seventh after
Nicole Magdziasz (Tinley Park, IL/Providence Catholic High School) ripped a two-run double to left center, scoring
Delaney Garden (Carpentersville, IL/Harry D. Jacobs High School) and
Mackenzie Sheehan (Kansasville, Wis./Union Grove), tying it 2-2.
The Greyhounds scored two runs in the top of the ninth inning, giving Indianapolis a 4-2 advantage.
Sheehan got one back with a solo home run to right center, her third of the season, making it 4-3. Lewis threatened with runners on third and first but the Greyhounds escaped further damage by getting the third out.
Garden (17-8) recorded the loss in the circle after all nine innings, giving up five hits, allowing four runs (two earned), walking four and striking out 10.
GAME 2: Lewis 6, Indianapolis 5

SUMMARY
Indianapolis struck first in the top of the second inning to make it 1-0. The Greyhounds had more chances to score with two runners on scoring position but
Allie Wondrasek (New Lenox, IL/Lincoln-Way West High School) recorded back-to-back strikeouts to get out of the inning.
Wondrasek recorded her first career home run with a two-run shot to centerfield, giving Lewis a 2-1 lead.
Lewis added another run in the bottom of the fourth after Sheehan drove home Frafjord with an RBI double, making it 3-1.
UIndy tied the score with two runs in the top of the fifth inning, 3-3.
The Flyers regained the lead in the bottom half of the inning after
Isabelle Poortenga (Dyer,IN/Lake Central High School) scored on a Greyhounds error, making it 4-3.
Kristen Graham (Mapleton, IL/Illini Bluffs High School) made it 5-3 after executing a suicide squeeze bunt, scoring Magdziasz from third.
The Greyhounds did not go away after hitting a two-run home run to right field, tying it at 5-5.
Graham walked it off for the Flyers after hitting a solo shot to left field, her seventh home run of the season, giving Lewis a 6-5 victory.
Wondrasek (17-5) recorded the win in the circle, going all seven innings, giving up six hits, allowing five runs, walking three and striking out seven.
