Lewis Women's Lacrosse Falls to Missouri Western Friday

ROMEOVILLE, Ill.  -- The Lewis University women's lacrosse team lost to Missouri Western 11-8 Friday (April 25).

GAME SUMMARY
FIRST QUARTER: Lewis 3, Missouri Western 2
Lewis jumped out to an early 3-0 lead after scoring the first three goals of the quarter. McKinnon found the back of the net in the opening two minutes, making it 1-0. 
 
Roney assisted the next two goals, giving the Flyers a 3-0 lead. The first one was passed by Cappellini and then the other was Sweeney. 
 
Missouri Western closed out the final two minutes with a pair of free position goals making it 3-2.
 
SECOND QUARTER: Missouri Western 4, Lewis 3
Procyk opened the quarter in the first minute with a goal, extending the Lewis lead to 4-2. The Griffons responded with the next two goals, tying the score at 4-4.  
 
Winterlik gave the Flyers a 5-4 lead after converting on a free-position shot which went in the back of the net. Procyk extended the lead with her second goal of the contest. 
 
Missouri Western scored the next two goals tying the contest at 6-6. 
 
THIRD QUARTER: Missouri Western 1, Lewis 0
Missouri Western scored the lone goal in the third quarter, giving the Griffons a 7-6 advantage.
 
FOURTH QUARTER: Missouri Western 4, Lewis 2
After recording the next goal, Procyk achieved her hat trick, tying the score at 7-7. The Griffons scored the next four goals, making it 11-7. 
 
Lewis ended their scoreless drought after Roney found the back of the cage after getting receiving the pass from Cappellini. 

FINAL SCORE: Missouri Western 11, Lewis 8

Lewis will be back in action Sunday, April 27 as the Flyers host Quincy for Senior Day starting at noon CT.
