KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The No. 11 Lewis University men's lacrosse team finished the regular season with an 8-7 loss to Rockhurst Saturday (April 26).
The Flyers knew coming into the match that they would be facing Rockhurst again Thursday in the Great Lakes Valley Conference Tournament semifinals. The two teams were playing for the No. 2 seed in the tournament as the Hawks claimed the seed, while Lewis is the No. 3 seed.

SUMMARY
FIRST QUARTER: Lewis 3, Rockhurst 2
Lewis took advantage of an early man advantage as Good found the back of the net with 12:28 left in the quarter.
Luke Schroeder (Plymouth, Minnesota/Totino-Grace HS) made it 2-0 less than a minute later with his 24th goal of the year to make it 2-0.
One minute after that
Xan Hayes (Leonardtown, Maryland/Leonardtown HS) tallied his 24th goal of the year to make it 3-0 Flyers. The Hawks would get on the board 15 seconds later to make it 3-1. They added a second goal with 6:52 left in the quarter to make it 3-2.
SECOND QUARTER: Rockhurst 2, Lewis 1
Good got the scoring going again in the second, tallying his second goal of the game with 10:35 remaining in the half. The Flyers would be shut out the remainder of the half and a pair of Rockhurst goals made it a 4-4 game at the half.
THIRD QUARTER: Rockhurst 2, Lewis 1
It was Good who once again opened the scoring in the quarter, tallying his 43rd goal of the year just 19 seconds into the second half with the man advantage to take a 6-5 lead.
However, the Hawks came back with a pair of goals to take a 6-5 lead into the fourth quarter.
FOURTH QUARTER: Lewis 2, Rockhurst 2
Lewis evened the score at 6-6 with 11:54 remaining in the game on
Michael Metheny's (Fishers, Indiana/Hamilton Southeastern HS) ninth goal of the season. Rockhusrt came back with a pair of goals in under a minute to take an 8-6 lead with 7:14 remaining.
Trevor Collier (Millersville, Maryland/Old Mill HS) made it an 8-7 game with 2:07 left on his seventh of the year. The Flyers were unable to get a shot off the rest of the game as a penalty with 57 seconds remaining hurt their chances of a late goal.

Lewis will face Rockhurst in a rematch in a GLVC Tournament semifinal Thursday (May 1) at Maryville University in St. Louis.
