INDIANAPOLIS – The Lewis University baseball team dropped the final two regular season games of its 2025 campaign Saturday (May 4) and now begin preparations for its conference tournament. 
 
GAME 1: UIndy 9, Lewis 3 (7 innings)

GAME 1 SUMMARY
The Greyhounds scored all their runs in the first four innings, building up a 9-0 lead the Flyers could not overcome. 

In the fifth, Cole Nelson (St. Charles, Ill/Lenoir Rhyne) walked with one out and then advanced to third on a double from Tyler Phommachanhom (Plainfield, Ill/Parkland CC). He then scored on a ground ball from Chris McDevitt (Chicago, Ill./St. Rita). Phommachanhom followed him, after scoring on a passed ball. 

The final Flyers run would come from John Henry Russell (Glenview, Ill./Glenbrook South), who walked and made his way around the base paths. He scored on yet another ball put in play by McDevitt, giving the game a final score of 9-3.
 
GAME 2: UIndy 16, Lewis 4 (7 innings)

UIndy 29-20, 20-11 GLVC | Lewis 36-14, 24-8 GLVC 

GAME 2 SUMMARY
UIndy got off to a hot start once again, scoring five runs in the first inning including a grand slam to set the Flyers back early.

The Flyers responded in the second with two runs off of a two RBI single from Nelson through the left side of the infield to score both Will Bruno (Upton, MA/UNC Pembroke) and Jason Krol (Chicago, Ill./St. Laurence). 

UIndy then scored three more runs in the bottom of the second to push the Flyers even farther back. In the third, George Bilecki (Chicago, Ill./Marist) scored on a rundown play caused by McDevitt to make it a 8-3 ball game.

The Greyhounds posted eight runs starting in the third and ending in the sixth. A Phommachanhom RBI scored Ian Nguyen (Coon Rapids, Minn./Coon Rapids) was the only response to the barrage of scoring, ending the game with a score of 16-4.
