ROMEOVILLE, Ill. – The Lewis University women's lacrosse team has signed 11 players for the 2025-26 school year, head coach
Mariah Smith announced. Below is information on those arriving at Lewis in the fall.
Rylee Baaske – The Chemistry major was a midfielder at Wheaton North High School where she also was a varsity gymnast for four years. She spent two years on the varsity lacrosse team at Wheaton North.
Sophia Fountain – The Education major made 750 saves as a senior at Montini Catholic High School. As a junior she made 500 stops in goal.
Emilie Lewis – The Victor J. Andrew High School graduate is planning on majoring in Elementary Education at Lewis. At Andrew she was two-time All-Conference and a All-Sectional Team selection as a senior. She was voted Defensive MVP by her teammates. She helped the T-Bolts to a conference championship her sophomore and junior year and the team finished fourth in the state with a 20-2 record her sophomore season. She picked up 77 ground balls for her career and caused 27 turnovers with seven goals scored.
Hannah Maxwell – The Sociology major heads to Lewis after graduating from Minooka High School. She was All-Conference as a junior at Minooka from the midfield/attack position.
Carmen Palenik – A midfielder from Ponte Vedra, Florida, Palenik spent four years playing varsity lacrosse in high school. The Digital Media/Journalism major earned the Unsung Hero award as a freshman, was MVP and All-District as a sophomore and was All-First Coast as a senior.
Ryan Paterson – An Elementary Education major, Paterson attended Pitt Meadows Secondary School in Pitt Meadows, British Columbia. She was a four-time Athlete of the Year from her attack position.
Alexis Riley – The Aviation Management major heads to Lewis from Camden, Delaware. She was First Team All-Conference Defender as a junior and was ranked in the top 50 in the state for girls lacrosse as a senior. Her school went 13-3 her senior year and ranked third in the state. She finished her career with nearly 100 career points and 40 caused turnovers.
Samantha Sandefur – The Biology major is coming to Lewis from Randall K Cooper High School in Union, Kentucky. She was the two-time Cincinnati Inquire Player of the Week, All-State Team, Team MVP and two-time Offensive Player of the Year. The attacker also spent two years as captain and helped her team go to the state finals as a senior.
Kaylee Schumacher – An Elementary Education major, Schumacher comes to Lewis from New Westminster, British Columbia, Canada. She competed for Team BC for eight years and is in her second season this year with the Team BC National Team.
Sienna Taylor – The Nursing major attended Ecole Oak Park High School in Winnipeg, Manitoba. At Oak Park she played hockey, lacrosse, track and field, flag football, badminton and soccer. She was a two-time MWHSHL League All-Star. She was a lacrosse alternate captain as a junior and team captain as a senior. As a junior her lacrosse team went 10-0 and were the Provincial Champions.
Abriyana Walker – The Huntley High School graduate led Huntley to a 19-4 record as a senior and were regional champions, helping set a new record for most wins in school history. She played in 22 games, scoring 11 goings to goal with 16 assists. She played in 15 games as a junior, scoring two goals and passing out two assists. Walker plans to major in Biology.
