HOW IT HAPPENED
With the sun setting in the distance, Wednesday's game started off with Lewis moving quickly into their offensive set plays. In the first 15 minutes the Flyers attempted four corner kicks with none resulting in a goal. At the 34:25 mark Lakers' substitute Alexander Amaya came into the game, less than a minutes later he received a pass from the opposite side of the box and put a shot into the back of the net for a Roosevelt goal.
Down 1-0 the Flyers came out of halftime with some fresh legs to energize the offense.
Simon Blaesdahl (Copenhagen, Denmark/Radford University),
Carson Czosnyka (Peoria, Ariz./Sandra Day O'Connor),
Robert Gorodnickis (Riga, Latvia/Riga),
Noah Kawaguchi (Arlington Heights, Ill./John Hersey) and
Faustin Wilson (Chicago, Ill./Von Steuben) started the second half up top for Lewis. After the first ten minutes of the second half,
Jael Chavez (Montgomery, Ill./East Aurora) sent a wide arching ball down the right sideline where the ball was met by Kawaguchi. He blew by the defender and the keeper for a Flyers goal.
The Flyers would continue their intensity for the remainder of the game and the contest closed at a 1-1 tie. Another full 90 for
