Box Score Fayette, Iowa - No. 23 Lewis University men's soccer team dropped their first game of the season against conference opponent Upper Iowa.
Lewis falls to 2-1-3 with the Upper Iowa Peacocks becoming 2-3-0.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The only goal of the contest came in the 28th minute with Upper Iowa's Abraham Navarro putting a high arching ball over the head of Lewis'
Yoan Zagorov (Sofia, Bulgaria). The Flyers and Peacocks continued to exchange offensive chances but the game would end in a stalemate with a 1-0 score.
Zagorov played another full 90 minutes giving up the one goal and proving one save as well. Upper Iowa keeper Noah Nymark Pedersen playing a full game shut out with five saves.
GAME NOTES
- Dating back to 2007, this is only the third loss in program history to Upper Iowa.
- Henrik Helgetun (Oslo, Norway/Korsvoll IL) made his Lewis debut with 10 minutes off the bench and Armani Vazquez (Orland Hills, Ill./Andrew) made his season debut with 5.
- Pacifique Ndayishimiye (Aurora, Ill./West Aurora) continues to see more playing time setting his minutes record with 55 off the bench.
