BOLIVAR, Mo. - The Lewis University women's basketball team picked up its 10th straight win, 70-59 over Southwest Baptist Saturday (Jan. 24) at Meyer Sports Center. The Flyers move to 12-6 overall, 8-2 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference.

HOW IT HAPPENED
A 5-2 lead for the Bearcats was short lived as the Flyers scored the next nine points behind five from Ramage to take an 11-5 lead. The teams traded baskets until a three-pointer by
Jasmine Jones (Bolingbrook, IL/Bolingbrook) gave Lewis a 19-11 lead after the first quarter.
Lewis added seven of the first eight points in the second quarter to take command at 26-12. Hoover hit a three pointer and Ramage had a pair of baskets to extend the lead to 14.
However, the Bearcats responded with a 15-1 run to tie the game at 29-29. A pair of free throws by
Yahaira Bueno (Bolingbrook, Ill./Bolingbrook) gave Lewis a 31-29 lead at the half.
That was the start of 10 straight Flyer points as Ramage had six more points to give Lewis a 39-29 lead. That lead grew to 14 points at 51-37 before the Flyers settled for a 51-39 lead going into the fourth quarter.
Lewis pushed the lead to 15 points on a Ramage three-pointer to make it 56-41 with 8:15 remaining. The Bearcats got it back to within nine points at 60-51 with 4:38 remaining, but five straight points from Ramage finished off the game.
