Chicago, Ill. - The No. 14 Lewis University men's volleyball team traveled to Chicago to face the No. 8 Loyola Chicago Ramblers. Lewis came up short, losing 3-0.
This brought Lewis' record to .500 at 6-6 (0-3 MIVA) and improved Loyola Chicago's record to 7-4 (2-1 MIVA)
IMPACT PLAYERS
Frederick Krueger-Beer (Milwaukee, Wis./Wauwatosa East) led Lewis tonight in kills with a season-high six kills, with
Cameron Hoying (Columbus, Ohio/St. Francis DeSales) right beside him with a season-high of 16 assists.
Nico Paula (Tampa, Fla./Berkeley Preparatory School) recorded the most passes tonight with a total of nine digs. Lewis struggled offensively, finishing with a hitting percentage of .062 compared to Loyola's .329.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Loyola started the first set strong with aggressive serving, jumping to a 6-2 lead with multiple service aces. Lewis responded midway through the set with big kills from the offense, trimming the lead to 16-22 after a long service run from
Daniel Haber (Remsenburg, NY/Westhampton Beach). However, the Ramblers closed the set, winning 25-18.
Lewis fought hard in the second set, leading 7-4 early due in part to big blocks and a lengthy serving run led by
Deyan Todorov (Sofia, Bulgaria/51st Secondary) at the line. It remained a close match, with Lewis staying within one point into the back half of the set. Loyola eventually pulled away and won the second set 25-20.
In the third set, Lewis continued to go point-for-point early, tying the contest at 7-7. A big ace from
Gauthier Brozak (Liege, Belgium/Institut de la providence de Herve) helped keep the Flyers close late in the set, but despite their efforts, the Ramblers claimed the match with a final score of 25-17.
