Women's Lacrosse Defeated by Concorida-St. Paul

St. Paul, Minn. - The Lewis University women's lacrosse team dropped a 12-6 road contest to Concordia-St. Paul Friday evening in the Land of 10,000 Lakes. 

The Golden Bears moved to 2-1 while Lewis dropped to 1-1.

IMPACT PLAYERS
Shelby Marik led CSP with four goals while Anna Palony collected a game-high five ground balls. Susie Monson also helped pace the Golden Bears offense with a hat trick of her own. In net, Erika Holm earned the win and played the full 60 minutes. 

Amelia Procyk (Coquitlam, BC, Canada/Dr. Charles Best Secondary School) led Lewis with a team-best three goals and four points. Eliana Cappellini (Burnaby, BC, Canada/Burnaby North Secondary School) secured four ground balls and won three draw controls. Between the pipes, Sophia Fountain (Berkeley, Ill./Montini Catholic High School) made a season-high 12 saves and played the full 60 minutes as well.

HOW IT HAPPENED
CSP struck first as they notched the first three goals of the game before Ravyn Jimenez (Navarre, Fla./Navarre High School) found the back of the net at the 6:57 mark the break the Golden Bears run and get Lewis on the board. The hosts did not slow down after the Lewis goal and held the Flyers to just one goal for the remainder of the half while scoring six of their own to enter the locker room with a 9-2 edge. 

Out of halftime, the two sides found themselves caught in a deadlock during the third quarter with each side finding the back of the net once with Procyk representing the lone goal of the quarter for Lewis. 

The Flyers ended contest on a high note as in the final stanza, they scored three of the final four goals of the contest with Procyk completing her hat trick.

GAME NOTES
  • Procyk notched her first hat trick of 2026 and first since April 27, 2025 against Quincy
  • Today marked the sixth all-time meeting between both sides
  • Despite the loss, Lewis ended the match with a 17-16 edge in clears

UP NEXT
The Flyers close their short two game road swing with a contest against Northern Michigan on Feb. 26. Opening draw is set for 1 p.m.
