St. Louis, MO - The Lewis University Women's Basketball team fell to the Tritons of the University of Missouri-St. Louis in an evenly matched GLVC matchup Saturday.
With the win, the Tritons improved to 18-3 (14-1 GLVC) while Lewis moved to 14-8 (10-3 GLVC).

Junior
Ally Cesarini (La Grange, Ill./Lyons Township) led the Flyers in points with 13 going 6-14 from the floor in field goal makes while also racking up a staggering 40 minutes on the floor. Sophomore
Yahaira Bueno (Bolingbrook, Ill./Bolingbrook) and redshirt junior
Mallory Ramage (Mattoon, Ill./Loyola Chicago) both picked up 12 points on the day, together accounting for 24 of the Flyers 63 total points in the contest. Juniors Kree Nunally and
Mercy Lasu (Winnipeg, Canada/D'Youville) both flirted with double-doubles in the game as Nunally put together 10 points and nine rebounds respectfully, as Lasu scored eight points and grabbed eight rebounds. Both players were responsible for 17 out of Lewis' 21 total rebounds.

For UMSL, Mara Rieder led the team in scoring with 26 points and rebounding with 13.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Lewis started the first quarter on 6-14 shooting at 42.86% but only going 1-3 from three point range while the Tritons were able to shoot 60% from long range to edge the Flyers on the scoreboard 18-16.

The Tritons really picked up the pace offensively in the second quarter as they shot 9-17 as a team on a 52.94% clip. The Flyers attempted to bridge the scoring difference by shooting four three point shots but none of them fell.

The Flyers went on a roll in the third quarter shooting 60%. By the end of the quarter, the Flyers cut the deficit to 10 points with two free throw makes by Nunally to make the score 61-51.

The deficit only grew in the fourth as UMSL capitalized on the floor shooting 50% while Lewis was only able to score once in the quarter, going 1-11 to end the contest. The game ended with a final score of 74-63. This marks the 18th win for the Tritons this season with a 18-3 overall record and 14-1 GLVC record while the loss for Lewis pushes their record to 14-9 overall with a 10-4 GLVC record.

GAME NOTES
- The Flyers lead in points off turnovers, second-chance points, bench points and points in the paint, but could not keep up with three point shooting as they went 4-18 from range.
- This loss for the Flyers ties their longest losing streak of two against UMSL in program history.
