BELLEVILLE, Ill. - The Great Lakes Valley Conference announced on Thursday (March 19) that Lewis University women's bowler Katharine Svehla (Elmhurst, Ill./York) was named All-GLVC Honorable Mention. The two-time GLVC Athlete of the Week for Women's Bowling this year earned her first All-GLVC honor.

The Senior has led the Flyers in nearly all statistical categories this year. Her 82.1 fill percentage ranks third for a season in Flyer history. She has led the entire GLVC in NCAA frames bowled this year with 1,072. Her average (188.8), strike percentage (42.3) and makeable spare percentage (76.3) are all team bests, while also finishing third in single pin spare percentage at 82.5.

Michelle Baeza (Cicero, Ill/Morton East HS) was named the James R. Spalding Sportsmanship Award winner for Lewis.

The Flyers begin competition at the GLVC Tournament Friday at 8:30 a.m. against No. 3 seed McKendree at Bel Air Bowl.
