HOW IT HAPPENED
Rockhurst controlled most of the first quarter, rattling off the first four goals of the contest before Paterson found the back of the net at the 5:44 mark to get Lewis on the board. The Hawks outscored 4-1 the remainder of the first half to enter the locker room with an 8-2 lead.
Out of the break, the visitors offense did not slow down as they tallied three goals in less than four minutes to lead 11-2 at the 12:42 mark. Still, the Flyers had an answer as a Cappellini tally at the 11:13 mark sparked a 3-0 spurt that trimmed the defecit to six, 11-5, with 5:47 to play.
However, Rockhurst regained control as a Stella Scoggin goal followed by Magee's fifth of the afternoon gave the Hawks a 13-5 cushion ahead of the fourth quarter. The Hawks kept the Flyers at bay in the final frame, outscoring them 6-1 to seal the 19-6 road win.
