HOW IT HAPPENED
Down 2-0 late in the first quarter, the Flyers found the back of the net for the first time in the afternoon asÂ
Paul Ruskoski (Tulsa, Oklahoma/Bishop Kelley HS) slid past the Hawks defense for the Flyers first goal of the day with 54 seconds left in the opening stanza.Â
After trading the first two goals of the second frame, Lewis was cleared for take-off as Good notched back-to-back man-up goals to spurn a 4-0 spurt that send the hosts into the locker room with a 6-3 advantage.Â
Â
Rockhurst flipped the script to start the second half as they scored the first three goals of the new half, capped by a Jack Peterson goal at the 7:30 mark, to tie the contest, 6-6.Â
Still, Lewis weathered the storm as Wesner's second of the day sparked a 4-0 run to end the quarter that gave Lewis the lead for good, 10-6.Â
