Lewis Track & Field Earns Six All-Region Honors for 2026 NCAA Division II Outdoor Season

Romeoville, Ill. – The Lewis University men's and women's track & field programs earned six USTFCCCA All-Region selections for the 2026 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field season following impressive performances throughout the year.

Leading the way for the Flyers was Denise Hernandez (Naperville, Ill./Naperville North HS), who earned All-Region honors in the long jump and triple jump after a dominant outdoor campaign. Hernandez captured the GLVC Championship title in long jump with an NCAA provisional mark of 6.30 meters and enters postseason competition as one of the top long jumpers in Division II. The reigning NCAA outdoor national champion continued to establish herself among the nation's elite in the event.

Levi Graham (Plainfield, Ill./Minooka) received All-Region recognition in the hammer throw after another historic season in the throwing circle. Graham claimed the GLVC Championship with an NCAA provisional mark of 65.47 meters and broke the Lewis school record in the hammer throw twice during the outdoor season. The standout thrower continued to build on an impressive collegiate career after finishing as the NCAA Division II national runner-up in the hammer throw during the 2025 outdoor season.

Distance standout Evan Horgan (Loves Park, Ill./Belvidere North) earned All-Region honors in the 5000-meter run following a breakout conference performance. Horgan won the GLVC title in 14:29.10 and continued his strong stretch of national-level competition after qualifying for both the NCAA indoor and outdoor championships last year.

On the women's side, Mary Edwards (Indianapolis, Ind./North Central) was selected All-Region in the 3000-meter steeplechase after rewriting the Lewis record book during the outdoor season. Edwards captured the GLVC Championship in a school-record time of 10:19.14, earning an NCAA provisional mark and cementing one of the top steeplechase seasons in program history.

Megan Garrett () also earned All-Region honors in the 3000-meter steeplechase after a strong postseason performance. Garrett secured her place among the region's best after finishing runner-up at the GLVC Championships with an NCAA provisional time of 10:33.55.

Rounding out the honorees was Abraham Christian (Huntley, Ill./Huntley HS) in the high jump. Christian claimed the GLVC Championship with a clearance of 2.14 meters, setting a new conference record while punching his ticket back to the NCAA Championships.

The Flyers will now turn their attention to the 2026 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field Championships, scheduled for May 21–23 in Emporia, Kansas, as Lewis looks to continue its momentum on the national stage.
