Emporia, Kansas – Denise Hernandez (Naperville, Ill./Naperville North HS) and
Levi Graham (Plainfield, Ill./Minooka) each earned All-American accolades to highlight the efforts of the Lewis University men's and women's track & field programs on day one of the 2026 Division II Outdoor Track and Field Championships.
Starting in the throw circle, Graham earned All-American accolades as he placed fifth with a personal-best throw of 66.85 meters.
At the jump pit, Hernandez cemented her legacy as one of the best jumpers in program history as she earned outdoor All-American status for the second consecutive season with her third place finish in the long jump (6.23 meters).
On the track,
Brendon Shea (Hershey, Pa./Hershey) punched his ticket to the men's steeplechase final on Friday with a personal-best time of 8:54.40. Shea placed fourth in his heat and sixth overall with his performance.
Mary Edwards (Indianapolis, Ind./North Central) also performed well in the steeplechase, qualifying for the woman's final with a time of 10:35.57. In her own heat, the Indianapolis, Indiana, native finished in second.
Additionally,
Megan Garrett () and
Josephine Bober (Lockport, IL/Lockport Twp HS) also competed at nationals with Garrett racing in the first heat of the women's steeplechase and Bober in the 10,000 meter final.
