Romeoville, Ill. - Lewis University head men's and women's swimming coach
Ian Disteldorf announced the addition of
Olivia Asay to his staff as an assistant coach.
Asay joins the Flyers after swimming at the University of Iowa from 2022-2026. A four year letterwinner with the Hawkeyes, Asay established new collegiate-bests in the 50-meter freestyle (24.91), 100 back (58.29), and 100 fly (56.68) at the Big Ten Swimming and Diving Championship along with new bests in the 100 free (54.60) at Hawkeye Invite and season-best in the 100 breast (1:12.26) at Purdue during her senior campaign. She also earned the Iowa Swimming Strength of Character Award this past season. It was not her first award from the Hawkeyes as she also collected the teams strength & conditioning achievement award as a sophomore.
The Downers Grove, Illinois, native succeeded in the classroom as she was a three-time Academic All-Big Ten honoree and was tabbed to the CSC Academic All-District team during the 2023-24 campaign.
Asay swam at Downers Grove North during her prep career and recently graduated with a degree in sport and recreation management this past spring.
