Evansville, Ind. - The Lewis University men's and women's swimming team concluded the 2026 GLVC Championships on Saturday.
Lewis placed sixth (615.5 points) on the men's side while the women placed fourth (843.5 points). UIndy won the GLVC title on both the men's and women's side.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Flyers secured three NCAA B-Cuts on the final day as
Colin Bade (La Grange Park, Ill./Lyons Township) finished with a time of 48.62 in the 100 backstroke,
Pablo Solano (Carmel, Ind./Colegio De La Salle) also competed in the 100 backstroke and concluded with a time of 55.11.
Amelia Marsicek (Centennial. Col./Regis Jesuit) shattered the previous Lewis school record and also earned a b-cut in the 100 backstroke (55.92).
On the women's side, Marsicek placed third in the 200 yard back (2:00.68). The Lewis 400 yard free relay of Marsicek,
Johanna Coates (Lusaka, Zambia/Lusaka International Community School),
Morgan Vis (Des Plaines, Ill./Maine West) and Luna Cueva Schafer placed fifth overall (3:29.18).
Do Dingshoff (Hoogeveen, Netherlands/Roelof Van Echten College) posted a fourth place finish in 1650 relay (17:43.21).
On the men's side, the 400 yard free relay of
Otavio Augusto De Moraes Cunha,
Soma Bota Depinyi,
Davidson Vincent (Thomonde, Haiti/Westlake Preparatory School) and Juan Jose Casto posted a fourth place finish (2:59.87). For Castro, he also earned fourth place finish in the men's 1650 free (15:28.75).
