2004-05: Academic All-GLVC, recipient of Lewis[apos] Delahanty Award for academic excellence among student athletes and a Deans[apos] List student both semesters ... made 13 appearances and four starts ... third on the team in relief appearances (nine) and fifth in total appearances ... in a no-decision vs. Mercyhurst, gave just two runs, seven hits and a walk in 5 2/3 innings ... tossed a scoreless relief inning vs. SIU Edwardsville ... struck out five in three innings vs. Upper Iowa ... made nine appearances and one start in GLVC play. High School/Other: Lettered two years as a pitcher and third baseman ... had a 2.28 ERA, a pair of one-hitters, 50 strikeouts and just 13 walks as a senior, as Lyons was 23-12 and made the playoffs ... winning pitcher in the state title game his junior season as Lyons capped off a 36-6 season ... 7-0 with a 1.18 ERA, 54 strikeouts and just 11 walks that year, and also hit .500 with two home runs ... selected for West Suburban Conference Showcase Team and Team Illinois ... Chicago Sun-Times Player of the Week for his one-hit shutout of Addison Trail ... 7-4 with a 2.34 ERA in sophomore play for a 20-10 team ... in freshman ball, was 5-4 with a 2.48 ERA, 62 strikeouts and just 15 walks as Lyons went 21-15 ... threw a two-hit shutout vs. Hersey in the 2002 summer state championship semifinals and was named all-tournament ... lettered his senior year in football as a quarterback ... scored 19 touchdowns (11 rushing, eight passing) ... Player of the Week following a win over York ... Lyons made a second straight playoff appearance for the first time ... helped lead freshman team to a 7-2 record, completing 45-of-64 passes (70 percent) with 28 TDs and only four interceptions, and rushing for six TDs ... also lettered one year in basketball ... three years on the honor roll ...
