Biography

2016 Highlights: Made 19 appearances on the mound for the Flyers…went undefeated with a record of 4-0…totaled two saves…picked up a save by pitching a scoreless and hitless inning at Truman (March 12)…earned second save after allowing no hits over two innings vs. Saint Joseph’s (April 17)…recorded season high of three Ks against Saint Joseph’s (April 17)…didn’t allow a run over three innings in a double header at McKendree (April 30).

2015 Highlights: Used this season as a red-shirt campaign.

2014 Highlights:  Made 13 pitching appearances with one start…team-leading 4.46 ERA…didn’t allow a run in 1.2 innings of work vs. Maryville (March 23)…struck out a pair in a scoreless inning at Southern Indiana (April 18)…struck out two in two scoreless innings vs. Saint Xavier (April 8).

2013 Highlights: Made two starts in eight appearances on the mound…threw 5.0 innings to earn his first collegiate win over UW-Parkside (Apr 2)…struck out a career-high four UW-Parkside batters (Apr 2).

Personal/High School: Helped the Lockport squad to three conference titles in four years and a 97-39 record …as a senior earned All-Conference, Herald News All-Area pitcher and ICA All-Star honors …put up a 7-2 record as a senior, with a 1.72 ERA, striking out 34 in 52 IP …gained playing experience with the Southside Express and Upper Deck Cougars …older sister Alexis is a member of the women’s volleyball team at Lewis …son of Wendi and Jeremy Sparta …Finance major.
