Jon Moore is in his second season as an assistant coach for the Lewis baseball program. 
Moore comes to Lewis after playing collegiately at Purdue University. Moore started 56 games for the Boilermakers in 2008. He hit .321 with 31 RBI and 12 doubles. He was named to the All-Big Ten Tournament Team that year, going 6-for-13 with five RBI, four runs scored, a double and a home run in the postseason. On March 24, 2008 he took home Big Ten Player of the Week honors. He also earned Academic All-Big Ten accolades in 2008. As a sophomore in 2007, Moore started 52 games and hit .275. In 2009 Moore hit .328 with nine RBI and three doubles before missing the final 33 games of the season due to a knee injury. He was an Endowment Scholarship recipient from the John Purdue Club in 2009. Moore worked camps for the baseball program each year at Purdue.
Moore earned a degree in sociology and a minor in Child Development and Family Services at Purdue in 2010.
He played one season at Oakton Community College in 2006. He was named First Team All NJCAA Region IV and First Team All-Skyway Collegiate Conference.
Moore played three seasons of summer ball during his college years. In 2008 he played for the Licking County Settlers in Newark, Ohio of the Great Lakes League, working high school camps while with the Settlers. In 2007 he played for the Harrisonburg Turks of the Valley League in Harrisonburg, Va, working grade school camps during his time with the Turks. In 2006 Moore played for the Danville Aces of the Central Illinois Collegiate League.
He is pursuing a master's degree in counseling psychology at Lewis.
