Nick Trzesniak, a former first round draft choice by the San Diego Padres in 1999, is in his second season as an assistant coach for Lewis.
Trzesniak played 10 years of minor league baseball reaching as high as AAA with four major league spring training invites. Trzesniak, a catcher, won Fan Favorite Awards with the Mobile Baybears (2005) and Fort Wayne Wizards (2002). He finished his 10-year career with a .252 batting average and .989 fielding percentage.
He worked at Ball Park Sports Academy from 1999 to 2008 as a hitting and catching instructor. A graduate of Andrew High School, he was named the Chicago Sun Times, Daily Southtown and NHSBCA District Four Player of the Year in 1999. He won first place at the 1999 IHSA hitting derby. Trzesniak lives in Frankford, Ill. He and his wife Alanna have a one year old named Jax.
