E-mail Coach Turner Steve Turner, who played for the Flyers in his junior and senior seasons, is in his second year as a Lewis University assistant coach. Turner played in every game during his two-year Lewis career and averaged 10.1 points. He led the team and ranked fifth in the Great Lakes Valley Conference with 44 steals as a senior, and he was 12th in the GLVC with 43 steals in his junior year as the Flyers won the GLVC title and achieved the No. 1 Great Lakes Region ranking. Turner began his collegiate career in 2001-02 at Lincoln College, earning all-conference honors and helping the team register a 26-6 record. He played the following year at NCAA Division I Chicago State University, where he started 20 games. Turner enjoyed an outstanding prep career at Richwoods High School in Peoria, Ill. He was named to the Illinois Basketball Coaches Association all-state team as a senior and was all-state honorable mention his sophomore and junior seasons. Richwoods placed fourth in the state in his junior season and was a state quarterfinalist in his senior campaign. A 2005 Lewis graduate with a bachelor's degree in accounting, Turner is pursuing a master's degree in business administration at the University.
