2011-12 Highlights: Named to Academic All-GLVC Team and CoSIDA Capital One Academic All-District 4 Men's Basketball Team...earned the GLVC Council of Presidents' Academic Excellence Award...selected to inaugural GLVC All-Defensive Team...recipient of the Br. 2008-09 Highlights: Started all 28 games at center for the Flyers...averaged 7.2 points and 5.9 rebounds for the Flyers...had 50 blocks, which was the most in school-history for a single-season...collected 10 points and a team-high seven rebounds against #10 Northern Kentucky (Feb. 28)...tallied 14 points and a team-best eight rebounds, two blocks and four steals in an 84-78 win over UW-Parkside (Feb. 26)...picked up seven points and a team-best nine rebounds against #22 Bellarmine (Feb. 19)...converted a season-best 9-for-11 from the field and finished with 18 points in a 78-59 win over Saint Joseph’s (Feb. 14)...picked up a team-season best six blocks against Indianapolis (Feb. 12)...garnered 13 points and eight rebounds against Northern Kentucky (Jan. 29)...was 8-for-9 from the floor and finished with a season-high and team-best 21 points in an 86-60 win over Indianapolis (Jan. 24)...had seven points and a team-best six rebounds and four blocks against Saint Joseph’s (Jan. 22)...was a perfect 5-for-5 from the field and finished with a career-high 12 points in a 101-82 win over UW-Parkside (Jan. 17)...grabbed a team-best seven boards in a 67-51 win over Quincy (Jan. 10)...swatted five shots in a 73-50 win over Missouri S&T (Jan. 8)...topped Flyers with eight rebounds against Drury (Jan. 4)...posted a double-double with 10 points and 11 rebounds - 10 of which were offensive - in a 101-37 win over Robert Morris (Springfield) on Dec. 29th...had nine points against Winona State (Dec. 20)...totaled a then, team-season high four blocked shots against UIC (Dec. 17)...was a perfect 3-for-3 from the field and finished with seven points and seven rebounds in an 81-65 win over Missouri-St. Louis (Dec. 6).

Prep/Personal: Two-year letterwinner for Stagg...as a senior, was named to the All-Tournament teams at Lemont/Stagg Thanksgiving Tournament and Luther North Christmas Tournament...served as team captain as a senior and was given the ‘Best Character’ award...averaged 13.6 points and 9.7 boards per game as a senior...earned High Honor Roll honors all four years...helped Stagg to a pair of 18-10 finishes in 2007 and 2008, including a pair of appearances in the Regional Final...member of the National Honor Society and was an AP Scholar...competed for Full Package AAU basketball team in 2007...son of John and Debbie Strus...majoring in math with a minor in secondary education.
