Galen Dodd

Galen Dodd is in his first season as a graduate assistant with the men's volleyball program. He spent the past two seasons as a student at UCLA.

Dodd served as the technical coordinator and was responsible for all of the video exchange and the use of VolleyMetrics within the NCAA and Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF). He developed analytic skills using DataVolley and Data Video. Dodd also developed technical training for the Bruins using video feedback and radar guns. He was a part of the staff that helped lead UCLA to a runner-up finish in this year's NCAA Division I-II Volleyball Championship.

Dodd also has experience at the international level serving as technical coordinator and high performance coach for USA Volleyball. He traveled to the Czech Republic for the 2017 FIVB U21 Mens' Junior World Championships, to Bahrain for the 2017 U19 Boys' Youth World Championships and to Canada for the 2017 ParaVolley North American Zonal Championship. Dodd has applied analytic and scouting skills using DataVolley and DataVideo. He's assisted USA Volleyball with High Performance camps since 2013 and has coordinated social media and press for the Boys' Youth National Team in Bahrain.

For the past year, Dodd has also been the head coach for the Sunshine Volleyball Club. In that role he's scheduled and planed practices for 16Elite, implemented fundamental skill training in a competitive work environment and managed all team functions and travel. Dodd has also served as an assistant coach and web administrator for Manhattan Beach Surf Volleyball Club for two seasons and as a coach and technical coordinator for the Southern California Volleyball Association.

He was a volunteer assistant at USC during the 2015-16 season. Dodd helped scout and make opponent reports, assist in practice planning and on court coaching and other administrative duties and participated in on campus recruiting.

He received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Anthropology from UCLA in June 2018.
