2017 Highlights: Recipient of the Br. David Delahanty Award – given to Lewis student-athletes for academic excellence...earned Academic All-MIVA accolades...appeared in 29 matches, including one start...notched eight kills and hit .313 (8-3-16) in win over No. 5 Pepperdine (Jan. 14)...delivererd a match and career-high 10 kills in sweep over Mount Olive (Feb. 25)...rattled off eight kills and five digs in four-set win over Lindenwood (March 2)...recipient of the D2 ADA Academic Achievement Award.

Prep/Personal: Named to the Volleyball Magazine 30 Underclassmen-to-Watch list, All-Metro first team and All-State first team after his junior season in 2012...helped the Junior Billikens to back-to-back second-place finishes at the state championships in 2011 and 2012...With his club team, High Performance STL 17 Gold, he helped the squad to first-place finishes at Great Lakes and Gateway national qualifying tournaments, to advance to the national tournament where the team took fifth...son of Sophie and Joe Bechmann...physics major.
