E-mail coach Sweet Liz Sweet is in her first season as an assistant coach for the women's basketball team. Sweet comes to the Flyers after spending her postgraduate years in business and as a girl's high school basketball assistant. For the past two years, she was an assistant coach at Rockford Christian H.S. where she evaluated and planned the team's conditioning program, directed individual and group instruction and helped develop game strategies. Sweet's playing days consisted of playing for Rock Valley College and Rockford College. At Rock Valley, she was all-conference honorable mention in 1998. In 1999, she earned all-conference first team and NJCAA All-Region IV honors. She then transferred to Rockford College where she was All-NIIC honorable mention in 2001. From 2001-2003, Sweet was a global applications developer and dealt extensively with computer programming languages. She also analyzed and documented system weaknesses and proposed improvements to those systems. Sweet will take graduate courses in leadership studies in addition to working with the team.
