Adrienne Bicek

 
Adrienne Bicek joins the Lewis men’s and women’s swimming coaching staff after completing her swimming career as a NCAA Championship qualifier at the University of Michigan in 2013. At Michigan, she was a two-time Academic All-Big Ten, Big Ten Distinguished Scholar honoree, and a College Swimming Coaches Association of America Scholar All-American Honorable Mention in 2012 and 2013. Bicek was also was a Namesnick Memorial Award honoree in 2011, as well as a UM Athletic Achievement honoree in 2012 and 2013.
 
Prior to her collegiate career, the Downers Grove, Ill., native was the 2008 Junior National Champion in the 200-yard butterfly, with a meet-record time of 2:11.46. She also was a bronze medalist at the Junior Pan-Pacific Meet in the 200-yard butterfly as a member of the Junior U.S. National team in 2009. Bicek also participated in the 2008 and 2012 Olympic Trials.
 
Downers Grove North alumna was the 2008 Illinois High School Swimmer of the Year. Bicek wrapped up her prep career as a 10-time High School All-America honoree and a 2009 Illinois State Champion in the 200-yard individual medley and record holder in the 500-yard freestyle.
 
Bicek graduated from Michigan in May 2013 with a bachelor’s degree in Psychology. While at Lewis, she will pursue a master’s degree in early childhood education with an emphasis in special education and English as a second language.
