Ruben van Leeuwen

Ruben Van Leeuwen is entering his first season as an assistant coach for the Flyer men's and women's swimming program.

    Before joining the coaching staff Van Leeuwen finished 3rd in the 200 free at NCAA Division 2 nationals. He was a 4 time NCAA All-American for the Lewis University men's swimming team. Excelling in academics also during his time at Lewis. Van Leeuwen was a part of the Deans list and President's list during his time as a Flyer.

    Prior to transfering to Lewis University Van Leeuwen attended Indian River State College where he also was a NJCAA record holder and 2 time NJCAA National Champion.

    Ruben was born in the Netherlands but raised in Aruba and Curacao. He was the Dutch youth age group record holder and National Champion in the 200 butterfly. Van Leeuwen joined the Dutch national team at age 17 before moving to the United States at age 20.
