E-mail Coach Siegfried Lewis University graduate and former Flyer tennis player Jill Siegfried has enjoyed a successful tenure as the Flyers' head women's tennis coach. Now in her sixth season at the Lewis helm, Siegfried began the 2006-07 campaign with a 71-36 (.664) overall record and a 40-15 (.727) mark against Great Lakes Valley Conference opponents (including conference tournament matches). Her 2005-06 squad, which was 11-5 overall and 4-1 in league play, bounced back from an opening-round loss at the GLVC Championship tournament and won its next two matches to finish fifth in the league. The 2004-05 Flyers, 14-10 overall and 8-1 in the GLVC, placed fourth at the conference tournament. Siegfried guided the 2003-04 Flyers to records of 18-6 overall and 8-1 in the GLVC, second place at the GLVC Championship for a second consecutive year and a second successive NCAA Division II Championship tournament appearance. The 2002-03 Flyers were 16-8 overall and 7-2 in the GLVC, while Siegfried's first team went 12-7 overall and 5-4 in the league. Siegfried, Lewis' Director of Student Recreation, Fitness and Wellness, played No. 1 and No. 2 singles and No. 1 doubles during her four-year Lewis career and served as team captain. Her coaching background includes stints with Johnson & Johnson Corporate Fitness (1988-91), Alvernia High School (1985-87) and the Chicago Park District (1981-86). Siegfried earned a bachelor's degree in psychology/athletics with a specialization in athletic training at Lewis in 1985; a master's degree in physical education with a specialization in sport/athletic administration at the University of Illinois-Chicago in 1987; and a master's degree in management and organizational behavior with a specialization in health care administration at Illinois Benedictine College in 1995. Siegfried and husband Jeff reside in Bolingbrook with son Zach and daughter Lauren.
