Gerard Weik returns as an assistant coach with the Lewis University men's volleyball team. His main duties are on-floor coaching and recruiting. Weik has been with the Flyers since Friend took over in 2005 and has been an integral part of the rebirth of the program.

Weik has over 15 years of junior coaching experience. He also served two years as a boys volleyball coach at Lockport High School.

Weik has played in USAV tournaments for 15 years and helped his team win a regional championship and two zonal championships. In addition, his team has placed in the top five three times at the USAV national tournament. He is the assistant director for Celtic Force Volleyball. He is also the facility manager for Palos Courts.

Weik grew up in nearby Lockport, graduated from Lockport High School in 1991. He is married to former Lewis volleyball player Lindsay Grim.
