Marcus Lopez is in his inaugural season as the graduate assistant for the Flyers volleyball programs.
After transferring to the University of Texas at Austin, he began working alongside the women’s indoor program in Fall of 2023. Continuing his journey, he became a student manager for the women’s beach program in Spring of 2025.
In his first season with the beach program, he helped lead the team to its first program conference championship and NCAA appearance. The following season, history repeated itself as he helped them win a consecutive conference title and making a Final Four appearance in the program’s second season of contention.
During Lopez’s time with the Longhorns he was involved in the 2023 Big 12 Conference Championship, 2023 NCAA Women’s Volleyball National Championship, 2025 CCSA Women’s Beach Volleyball Championship, and 2026 MPSF Women’s Beach Volleyball Championship.
Marcus was born in Odessa, TX. He graduated from Killeen Early College High School with his diploma and associates degree. After graduating from the University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology and Health, he is currently pursuing a Master of Arts in Organizational Leadership.
