COLUMBUS, Ohio - No. 14 Lewis men's volleyball dropped a 25-22, 25-20, 25-17 road decision to No. 5 Ohio State on Friday evening.

The opening set had 14 ties and five lead changes. It was tied at 18 when Ohio State pulled away with three straight points.

The Flyers asked for time in the second set when Ohio State took a 15-12 lead. Ohio State would extend their lead to 17-12 and force another Lewis timeout.

The third set was similar with Lewis asking for time after Ohio State grabbed a 16-12 advantage.

Senior Brian Muesenfechter (St. Louis, Mo./Christian Brothers) hit .444 with 11 kills and five digs. Sophomore Jay Petty (Downers Grove, Ill./St. Edward) had 12 kills and six digs. Freshman Roberto Torres-Davis (Mayaguez, Puerto Rico/Colegio San Benito) totaled 13 digs.

"Moose hit for a nice clip and Roberto had 13 digs after 14 last match so some guys did some nice things tonight," head coach Dan Friend said. "We have the talent and the potential but we need to score more points in transition and be more consistent on offense."

The Buckeyes were paced by Shawn Sangrey's 20 kills.

Ohio State improves to 13-2 (6-0 MIVA). Lewis falls to 12-5 (3-2 MIVA). Lewis is next in action on Friday at Long Beach State.
