EVANSVILLE, Ind. - Senior Leila Marquet (Courdimanch, France, Lycee Notre-Dame de la Compassion, Webber College) turned in her third-straight top-ten finish to start the season after carding a 156 (80-76) and finishing eighth overall at the Screaming Eagles Classic on Tuesday (Sept. 19) afternoon. The tournament was hosted by the University of Southern Indiana.

The Flyers as a team finished sixth overall with a score of 660 (339-321). The University of Indianapolis won the event after a two-day score of 615 (315-300). 11 of the 18 schools entered in the event were from the Great Lakes Valley Conference.

Junior Vanessa Phillips (Metamora, Ill., Metamora Township) shot a pair of 80's to finish 20th while classmate Nicole Tucker (Phoenix, Ariz., Xavier College Preparatory) was third on the team and tied for 38th after a 170 (92-78).

Rounding out the top four scores for Lewis, junior Carly Shapiro (Lockport, Ill., Lockport Township) ended the tournament tied for 47th with a total of 174 (87-87).

The Flyers return to action on Sept. 25 as they participate in the Midwest Shootout at Annbriar GC in Waterloo, Ill.
