Kansas City, Mo. -
Having won their last 10 matches, things were looking up for the Lewis University men's tennis team, as they faced No. 31 Rockhurst on Sunday (March 25) afternoon.

The host Hawks, however, proved to be too much, as they claimed the 6-3 non-conference win over the Flyers.

"We were not prepared today," Lewis head men's tennis coach Brett Bridel said. "We played poorly in doubles with too many errors and not nearly enough positive energy to be successful.

"I will do a better job of having us ready to go in every match," Bridel continued. "We will use this experience as motivation to get better."

With the win, Rockhurst improves to 4-2 overall, while Lewis is now 10-2 on the campaign.

The Flyers received their lone doubles win at No. 2, as freshman Armand Levandi (Tallinn, Estonia/Audentese Spordigumnaasiumi) (Tallinn, Estonia/Audentese Spordigumnaasiumi) and senior Michael Wojnarowski (Oak Lawn, Ill./Richards) (Oak Lawn, Ill./Richards/Moraine Valley C.C.) picked up the 8-5 win over Yassir El Ghazi and Truit Gray.

In singles action, Lewis' Uno Lapimaa (Tallinn, Estonia/Audentese) (Tallinn, Estonia/Audentese) earned the 6-2, 6-2 win over El Ghazi at No. 1, while Flyer freshman Erik Aunapuu (Tallinn, Estonia/Audentese Spordigumnaasiumi) (Tallinn, Estonia/Audentese Spordigumnaasiumi) felled Victor Klintcharov, 6-1, 6-4 at No. 3.

Lewis returns to action on Friday (March 30), as the Flyers host Saint Joseph's for a 2 p.m. (CST) showdown.
