The Lewis University men's soccer team peppered Kentucky Wesleyan goalkeeper Bill Isom with 13 shots-on-goal over 105 minutes and the Flyers were unable to find the back of the net.

Lewis junior forward Cristhian Ramirez (Wheeling, Ill./Wheeling) (Wheeling, Ill./Wheeling/Emerald Coast United), however, was able to solve the Isom riddle, as he scored the golden goal at the 105:40 mark to lift the visiting Flyers to the 1-0 Great Lakes Valley Conference double-overtime win over the host Panthers at Robert “Bullet” Wilson Field at Steele Stadium on Friday (Sept. 21) night.

Flyer sophomore David Pyle (Glen Ellyn, Ill./Glenbard South) (Glen Ellyn, Ill./Glenbard South) assisted on the play.

With the win, Lewis improves to 3-4 overall and 3-2 in GLVC play, while the host Panthers are now 0-7 on the campaign and 0-5 in conference action.

Isom made 13 saves on the evening, while his counterpart Alec Pickett (Mokena, Ill./Providence ) (Mokena, Ill./Providence Catholic) stopped seven Panther shots.
