No. 15 Lewis Men’s Volleyball Hosts NJIT In 2013 Home Opener

Friday is the Flyers’ Ring Ceremony; Saturday is Hawaiian Night.

The Flyers host NJIT and George Mason at Neil Carey Arena this weekend.
Romeoville, Ill. – The No. 15 Lewis University men's volleyball opens their 2013 home schedule on Friday (Jan. 25) against New Jersey Institute of Technology at Neil Carey Arena. First serve is set for 7 PM. Between games 2 and 3, the 2012 team will receive their rings to commemorate their semifinal appearance at the 2012 NCAA Men's Collegiate Volleyball Championship.
 
The Flyers head into the weekend with a 2-5 record on the year while NJIT is 1-2.
 
Redshirt senior Jay Petty (Downers Grove, Ill./Downers Grove North) (Downers Grove, Ill./Downers Grove North) brings 979 career kills into the weekend's matches which is 8th all-time during the rally scoring era at Lewis. Redshirt sophomore Geoff Powell (Claremont, Calif./Claremont) (Claremont, Calif./Claremont) leads the Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association with 110 kills to average 3.79 kills per set.
 
Fans are encouraged to wear their Hawaiian themed attire for Lewis' Saturday (Jan. 26) match against George Mason, who is 1-3 on the year, at 7 PM.
