The No. 12 Lewis University men's volleyball team (9-5, 5-0 MIVA) is set to host Ball State (8-3, 3-3 MIVA) on Friday (Feb. 22) and IPFW (6-4, 3-2 MIVA) on Saturday (Feb. 23) at Neil Carey Arena in two big Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association matches.

Saturday's match against IPFW will be broadcast live on Lakeshore Public Television with Scott Slocum giving the play-by-play with Lewis women's volleyball coach

FITTERER NAMED SPORTS IMPORTS/AVCA NATIONAL PLAYER OF THE WEEK - Sophomore opposite
Eric Fitterer (Edwardsville, Ill./Edwardsville) was named National Player of the Week on Feb. 12 for his numbers in MIVA matches against Lindenwood and Quincy last week. He posted 23 total kills to average 3.83 kills-per-set, hit .543 with four errors in 35 attempts and recorded three service aces and four block assists in the two contests.
MIVA LEADERS - Redshirt sophomore outside hitter
Geoff Powell (Claremont, Calif./Claremont) leads the league with 202 total kills, averaging 3.67 kills per set. Redshirt junior setter
BJ Boldog (Palatine, Ill./Palatine) is second with 549 total assists to average 9.80 assists-per-set this season.
SERIES RECORDS - Both visiting teams hold the series lead over the Flyers. Ball State leads 25-19 while IPFW holds a 21-19 lead. Last season, the Flyers swept the Cardinals while splitting with the Mastodons.
IN THE NATIONAL RANKS - The Flyers have been in the AVCA National Rankings for 38-straight weeks, when the seventh poll of the 2013 season came out on Monday (Feb. 18) with Lewis at No. 12.
WEEKEND FESTIVITIES - Friday's theme is Club Volleyball Night, while Saturday is Red Out for the squad's match broadcast on Lakeshore Public TV (Ch. 17 or 21 on Comcast and Ch. 56 on satellite.)
