Belleville, Ill. - McKendree University won the final three singles matches against the No. 36 Lewis University men's tennis team to rally for the 5-4 Great Lakes Valley Conference victory over the visiting Flyers at Kings Point Sports Club on Friday (Apr. 12) afternoon.

With the win, McKendree improves to 13-2 overall and 4-1 in GLVC action, while the visiting Flyers fall to 6-5 on the campaign and 2-2 in conference play.

Lewis managed one victory in doubles action, as sophomores Armand Levandi (Tallinn, Estonia/Audentese Spordigumnaasiumi) (Tallinn, Estonia/Audentese Spordigumnaasiumi) and Erik Aunapuu (Tallinn, Estonia/Audentese Spordigumnaasiumi) (Tallinn, Estonia/Audentese Spordigumnaasiumi) claimed the 8-0 triumph at No. 1 over McKendree's Mortiz Kandt and Fevlin Janssen.

Aunapuu added a 6-1, 3-6, 7-5 marathon win over Kandt at No. 2 singles, while Levandi earned the 2-6, 6-3, 6-3 come-from-behind win over Gabor Toth at No. 1 singles.

The Flyers earned their final victory of the afternoon at No. 3 singles, as sophomore Florian Etienne (Paris, France/Jean de la Fontaine) (Paris, France/Jean de la Fontaine/Shorter) dropped Janssen, 6-2, 6-0.

The Flyers return to action on Saturday (Apr. 13), as they head to Louisville to square off with Bellarmine for a 10 AM (ET) first serve.
