Senior goaltender
Mara Bennett (Portage, Mich./Portage Central) (three saves) has guided the Lewis defense to shutouts in three of their last four games. The Flyers have just one loss in their last five contests.
"Overall it was a very solid performance from back to front," Lewis head coach
Chris Koenig said. "Obviously it was great to get a second shutout in a row and it's good to see our defense starting to gel. I think we were much sharper in the final third and finished some really good chances. Now we need to put together another complete game on Sunday."
The Tritons fall to 5-6-0 (3-6-0 GLVC) with the loss. Lewis improves to 2-5-4 (2-4-3 GLVC) with the win. Lewis stays in the St. Louis area for their next contest on Sunday at Maryville. Kickoff against the Saints is set for noon.
