HTML Box Score ROMEOVILLE, Ill. – Lewis women's soccer played Truman State to a 0-0 (2 OT) draw on Sunday (Oct. 19) afternoon in a Great Lakes Valley Conference game at Lewis Stadium.
The Flyers controlled the vast majority of the contest thanks to a 14-5 edge in shots. However, only three of Lewis' shots were on goal. Defensively, the five shots recorded by Truman is a season low for the Bulldogs.
Lewis nearly ended the game just before the end of regulation. The Flyers earned a corner kick with just seconds remaining in the game. Sophomore
Leah Manning (Orland Park, Ill./Sandburg)'s header attempt that resulted from the corner hit the crossbar.
Lewis' next best chance came in the second overtime. Junior
Jessica Chavez (Aurora, Ill./West Aurora) had her shot attempt from inside the box saved by Truman State goalkeeper Katie Mattingly. The rebound went to Mattingly's left. Sophomore
Meg Carmody (Orland Park, Ill./Sandburg) followed the shot but Carmody's attempt went wide left.
"We just didn't put enough on frame today and that was the difference," Lewis head coach
Chris Koenig said. "Friday night we put a lot of shots on frame and today we didn't execute as well in the final third."

Mara Bennett (Portage, Mich./Portage Central) made one save to pick up her fourth shutout of the season.
Truman State is now 10-3-2 (8-2-2 GLVC). Lewis is now 3-6-5 (3-5-4 GLVC). Lewis returns to Lewis Stadium on Friday (Oct. 24) against Saint Joseph's. It is Senior Night for the Flyers.
