Romeoville, Ill. -
The Lewis University men's soccer team had their chances against McKendree, but the Flyers were unable to find the back of the net, as they battled to a 0-0 (2 OT) draw against the Bearcats at Lewis Stadium on Friday (Oct. 3) evening.

The Flyers outshot McKendree 22-10, but only held a 3-2 advantage in shots on goal. Two of those shots, however, were denied by the crossbar, as George Thomson (Kilmarnock, Scotland/Reid Kerr College) and David Pyle (Glen Ellyn, Ill./Glenbard South) both narrowly missed putting Lewis on the board.

With the tie, Lewis moves to 5-2-2 on the campaign and 4-1-2 in conference action, while the visiting Bearcats move to 2-5-2 overall and 2-4-1 in GLVC play.

Lewis senior goalkeeper Omar Ramirez (Houston, Texas/Elsik) made two saves for his third shutout of the season. McK netminder Scott Armistead stopped three Flyer shots.

Lewis returns to action on Sunday (Oct. 5), as the Flyers welcome Bellarmine to Lewis Stadium for a 12 PM kickoff.
