St. Louis, Mo. - With the benefit of two forfeit victories, No. 12 Drury University needed just three wins to earn the 5-0 triumph over Lewis University in the Quarterfinals of the 2014 Great Lakes Valley Conference Men's Tennis Championship at the Tao Tennis Center on Friday (Apr. 18) morning.
Lewis ends the season with a record of 5-11, while Drury improves to 19-2. The Panthers will take on the winner of Southern Indiana/Rockhurst at 9 AM on Saturday (Apr. 19).
"It was a good fight and effort, but we just couldn't get the doubles points," Lewis head men's tennis coach
Brett Bridel said. "It's not the season that we envisioned, but we learned a lot from this experience and it will make us even stronger next year."
