ALL-TIME SERIES - Since Lewis entered the Division II ranks, the Flyers hold a 36-26 advantage over UW-Parkside in their all-time series. Â
LAST TIME WE MET - UW-Parkside snapped the nation's fourth-longest home winning streak, as the Rangers - behind a game-high 21 points from junior forward Zygimantas Riauka - claimed the 76-70 GLVC victory over No. 18 Lewis in the regular-season finale on February 27, 2014.
LAST TIME OUT - The Flyers used a 29-4 run to open the second half en route to the 81-54 victory over UIS at Neil Carey Arena on Saturday (Jan. 17) afternoon.
THE LAST TIME - Lewis guard
Max Strus (Hickory Hills, Ill./Stagg) has recorded two double-doubles in his freshman campaign for the Flyers. He is the first Flyer rookie to record a double-double since his brother Marty Strus (2008-12) accomplished that feat in 2008.
WELL DONE ROOKIE - Strus has scored at least 20 points in a game three times this season. He is the first Flyer freshman to score 20 points in a game since senior guard
Ryan Jackson (Bolingbrook, Ill./Riverside-Brookfield) did it in 2011-12.
SMOKIN' HOT - Lewis has won 41 of its last 52 contests dating back to the 2012-13 campaign for a winning percentage of .788.
RANKED SCHMANKED - Lewis has defeated at least one nationally-ranked Division II team in each of the last four seasons.
TOP 10 - Jackson (1,532 points) is in seventh place in school-history in career points. He needs 38 points to pass Ferry Williams (1964-68) for sixth place.
1,000/700 ON THE HORIZON - Senior forward
Julian Lewis (Flossmoor, Ill./Homewood-Flossmoor) needs 101 points to reach 1,000 for his career and 59 more rebounds to become just the fourth Flyer in school history to notch at least 1,000 points and 700 rebounds in the Division II era.
WINNING WITH CLASS - Lewis' current senior class (2011) needs seven wins to reach the most victories (75) by a Trost recruiting class, set by last year's seniors.
TOTALLY TO THE MAX - Strus is the highest scoring freshman in the GLVC, as the Hickory Hills, Ill., native is 22nd in the conference, averaging 12.7 points-per-game.
POINTS IN THE PAINT - The Flyers have a decisive advantage down low, as Lewis is averaging 36.9 points-per-game in the paint to their opponents' 20.2.
POUNDING THE GLASS - Lewis currently holds a +8.8 rebounding margin over their opponents through 15 games this season. That would be the highest rebounding margin of any Flyer team under head coach
Scott Trost's tenure. The previous high under Trost was +4.2 in 2007-08.
TAKING THE LEAD - In Lewis' 12 wins this season, they have trailed just 9:40 out of a possible 480 minutes played.
AUSTRALIAN FOR BUCKETS - Since entering the starting line-up against UMSL on January 8th, junior forward
Brad Foster (New Lenox, Ill./Lincoln-Way Central) is shooting 78.9% (15-for-19) from the field and averaging 4.0 rebounds-per-game.
FROM WAY DOWNTOWN - Lewis has hit at least 10 three-pointers in four games this season. That's the most times the Flyers have hit at least 10 trifectas since they did it five times during the 2011-12 campaign.
LESS IS MORE - The Flyers needed just 47 total field goal attempts to defeat Saginaw Valley State on November 20th. Lewis is 10-3 (.769) since 2012 when taking less than 50 shots in a contest.
POURING IN POINTS - Lewis has scored 90+ points three times this season in 15 contests. That's the most times the Flyers have reached the 90-point plateau since they did it three times during the 2011-12 campaign.
SIZEABLE VICTORIES - Lewis has had nine victories of 20+ points or more this season, which is the most by a Flyer team during the Division II era (1980-present).
GETTING TO THE LINE - Lewis is 11-0 over the past three seasons when Jackson gets to the free throw line at least 10 times.
MID-RANGE JUMPER? - Lewis has scored just 82 points this season that have not been either a three-point FG, a FG in the paint or a free throw. Those points amount to just 6.8 percent of the Flyers' scoring this season.
FREEBIES - Senior guard
Jeff Jarosz (Lyons, Ill./Morton) has made his last 22 free throws dating back to the Flyers' game against St. Francis (Ill.) (Dec. 20). He is shooting a team-best 87.0% (47-for-54) from the charity stripe.
FREEBIES (PART DEUX) - Lewis is shooting 92.1% (35-for-38) from the free throw line in their past two contests.
DEEP BENCH - Lewis has nine players that are averaging at least 13.7 minutes-per-game.
RANGER RYAN - Jackson is averaging 16.5 points-per-game in six career contests against UW-Parkside, including a career-high 32 points as a sophomore in a 77-74 win over the Rangers in Somers on January 21, 2013.
THREE BALL - Lewis has four players that are averaging at least one three-pointer made per game this season. Strus leads the charge with 1.6 trifectas-per-game.
